Both have their advantages when it comes to performance and recovery in the gym. Research has shown that morning workouts lead to better metabolic rates (you burn more fat at rest), while afternoon and evening workouts can yield better performance outcomes due to muscle flexibility, higher body temperatures, and higher testosterone levels.

So, you are more likely to hit a PR in the afternoon, but if you are trying to get as lean as possible, exercising in the morning may give you a slight edge.
